My favourite in winter, creamy straganoff!
- 1 onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 large red/green/yellow pepper sliced
- 1 punnet mushrooms sliced
- 500g ostrich cubes (sorry for the change but I felt like ostrich)
- 1/2 c red wine
- 1 cup full cream organic milk
- 2 tsp oat bran
- Salt and pepper
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions and garlic
Add the peppers and mushrooms
Cook for about 5 mins
Add the ostrich cubes and brown
Season with salt and pepper
Add the red wine and a splash of water
Allow to simmer for about 10 mins
Make a paste with a little of the milk and the oat bran
Add the rest of the milk to the ostrich and the paste.
Stif on a medium heat until it thickens.
Serve with mashed sweet potato/ roasted veg
